A whole week dedicated to celebrating and promoting girls and women’s football in New Zealand!

New Zealand Football has a vision to make football the number one team participation sport for kiwi women and girls. To achieve this, Mainland is hosting a number of events to help attract and promote girls football. We want to ensure that every female is given the opportunity to play the game.

Mainland Football have a number of events lined up for the week.

Sunday 11th September

Junior L1 Coaching Course - 9am-12pm, English Park, Womens Only (Cost $65.00)
Youth L1 Coaching Course - 1pm-4pm, English Park, Womens Only (Cost $65.00)

Monday & Tuesday 12th/13th September

Schools Festival Yr 3/4 & 5/6 Girls 9am-3pm, English Park

Come and experience the beautiful game in a friendly female only environment, at Canterburys home of football - English Park. Bring your school down and enjoy playing in a non-competitive fun environment. You may even have a chance to have Q&A time with one of our very own Football Ferns.

Koru Games - Multi Sport Tournament  9am-3pm, Prebbleton Domain (13th 15th September)

Koru Games is aimed at year 7 and 8 children to participate in a multi-sport tournament. Girls only football competition available at Prebbleton Domain.

Wednesday 14th September

Futsal School Festival – Hillview Christian School. 12:30pm - 1:30pm

Female Only Referee Course 7-9pm, English Park (cost $10.00) - please click here to register

This referee
s course is for all those interested in learning the rules of the game and playing a vital role in our local game.

Thursday 15th September

'Have a Go day' Ashburton – 9am-3pm, Ashburton

This event provides children the opportunity to discover football in small sided games (4v4, 5v5) in a fun and friendly environment.

Pride Festival – 5pm-6pm, English Park

Opportunity to meet and learn from the best women’s players in Christchurch.

Football School Festival Nelson - 12:30-2pm, Saxton Field

Saturday 17th September

Football Festival Marlborough – 10am-12.30pm, Marlborough A&P Park

Girls only Football Festival featuring fun skill based drills, games and specific girls goal keeping session. Bring a friend, learn new skills, play games and have fun.

Girls Taster Hub - English Park 10 - 11am

Introductory session for ‘Girls Summer Hub’. Come and try a fun skill based session. Ages 5 - 12 years. All abilities welcome.

Sunday 18th September

Halswell 7s – 9am-5pm, Halswell Domain

This 7-a-side football tournament is open to all  womens teams aged 18 and above. No need to enter as a club team, just get a group of mates together, choose a team name and enter now! The clubhouse including bar, bbq and changing facilities will be open all day. Prizes for the winners and best dressed team!
